Reflection

The three most import things I learned about this year was that hard work, gets you far in school, being on task and being ready to school gets you ready for doing hard work, and being kind and respectful can earn yourself a lot of opportunities and privileges. I know this because once i started to be on task and working hard I got a lot of compliments from my peers and my teachers. But hard work doesn't come a long way, not unless you have respect for your teachers. If you have respect you will have certain privileges that can bring your grades higher and you'll be able to attend new things and opportunities.

Something we did that I Think i'll remember for my whole life was when we all read out our this I believe paragraph in the class. You can just feel when people actually care about what you're saying. You can feel the emotion and the emphasizing in each sentence. I can't even lie, I feel like we made it far from where we first were in the school year. If we can cry together than we are close enough to family.

The most nicest thing someone did for me in this class, was when I missed a assignment and Jose was there to help me. I can see that his undivided attention was on me even when he was working on the assignment. It was strange to see someone help me, like a student usually I ask to get there attention, and to help me. But Jose was different he just came up to me because he seen that i was confused and befuddled.

I think I taught my classmates that respecting the teacher can always turn into a privilege for all of us and if you respect the teacher she'll respect you back. I always been so keen to respect someone. I don't know why, it's just that I always had a knack to respect someone in any situation they're in. Even if there disrespect me, I will always find something inside me to bring myself to like the person. If they see that you're being nice even when they're rude they will switch either right away or later on in the day or in future meetings.

I think the area that I made most improvements in, is mainly putting effort in my work and being on task with what I am doing. Every time I started to fall in my grades, I always found a way to bounce back , and get all my work done and turned in. Mind you this isn't a great routine You must be able to have your work turned in before the due dates because once you have unfinished business then there isn't going to be no social media for you out other activities. One thing that I accomplished this year was the butterfly project. I don't know why but I often feel fond in my work because i put a great deal of effort and I was able to improve the project because of my imagination. I even have my butterfly project as the background of my iPad.

One challenging part of this year was when I was behind on my IXL’s and late on the article of the week going into our book Night, by Elie Wiesel. I remember I would stay up till 4 A.M to finish both of the assignments because I was too busy socializing on social media half the day. That isn't good for any student to do. School should come first then your studies. Anything else does not help you achieve in life. You need to keep that mentality that you're always going to succeed no matter what. But make school your acquirement and your priority.

The best writing I did all year was this one. And you want to know what my best writing was yesterday? The last thing I wrote down yesterday. I think that every time you write and essay or speech or reflection it should always be your best, no matter what you right it's a must to give it your all each time you write. I believe that dwelling on certain writings your wrote does not make you a better writer. Every time I write a paragraph for a speech or essay I feel like my paragraphs get deeper and deeper. You might read this and say i'm wrong, but know this is fact, everything you write down only helps you improve in your writing.

My favorite book I read this year was the boy in the wooden box. It was was one of the lit circle books that we read this year. I feel that this book helped me understand things about life. How people can make big impacts in your life. My favorite part about the book was when he used to get better at living everyday. Just like how I said about writing paragraphs. Everyday it seemed like he developing new ways to live and this made me think that anyone can adapt to a certain environment and achieve what they want. It doesn't matter if you're on a burning falling down building or you about to drown because your boat got hit. You just need to believe that your gonna be safe and improvise in every step you do, and be confident. Being confident is a main thing to worry about.

My advice next year to the students is to never give up. Make sure you make Mrs.Larson happy and don't give her a hard time. She cares about all of you. If you don't have her attention, don't get mad she’ll be with you in a second. Being with Mrs.Larson I began to know that she will always give you her undivided attention someway somehow. This why she is a good teacher. She loves to put you on the spot, but for good reasons only. I feel like she only tries to keep his on task and not fail. Over all don't give her a bad day.

This I believe

“Anything You Desire”

I believe that every human has a purpose in life and anything you want to become you can make it happen. Have you ever felt the struggle of being too small or too tall to do something you want in life? Almost like a hoax that's so powerful that it's so close to being true. Ever since I was little, I felt like my life was set up for failure. I was devastated to know that I was 4’11 at the age of 11. I was always the one who would play every sport. At that time I would ask my dad, “Do you think I will grow?” Of course my dad will always tell me yes. The only reason I would constantly ask him that question was because I wanted to be reassured that I will get taller. I always made sure I ate good and I had my daily workout, just to make sure that I was healthy, for just maybe I could grow.

I heard a lot of stories about great athletes who were born small and they were able to make it to the pros. But there was even more stories about people who didn't make it to the league, Devastating stories. One movie that always made me think about my height was a movie called Rudy. It's about this boy who always wanted to play football for Notre dame. He always would show up to practice ready to go and when he was put in , he gave it his all. Boy that guy was a beast. Unfortunately when he was going into college he was rejected from going to Notre Dame because his grades weren't high enough. Plus he was too small to be on the team. He didn't stop there. He went and got a job at a factory and was able to get enough money to enroll for a semester. If his grades were high enough the pastor said he could have a scholarship. He then did what he said and made his grades high enough to join the team and to get the scholarship. After being put on the team, the coach would still not let Rudy play because he was to small. So one game all the players of the team admired Rudy’s bravery and toughness so they went to the coaches office and swore to not play if Rudy does not go in, in the next game. The coach finally agreed that he would have a chance to be put on the field. When the game started Rudy did not go in, the players were angry with the coach because he swore to let Rudy play. But finally In the final seconds of the game, he put Rudy in on defense and guess what he did ? He made the game winning tackle to win the game . This movie impacted how I played on the field. Every time my coach has me out on the field, I made myself known, to all the players, that the smallest one is gonna be the best one.

That's been my motto for the last 5 years I played football. All 5 years I beat people that were taller than me and bigger than me. All you need is that mentality and courage to put forth that inner beast inside you, when you're on that field. Show that you can be the best even when you're at a physical disadvantage. If you believe in what you do, you can achieve what you want and be successful in life. All the things I've been through and what I've seen made me better on the football field. Keeping this mentality of not giving up and practicing everyday to make yourself better can translate into your personal life. If you have that mindset on the field, you can have that mindset in your studies and school. Any obstacles you face going through life, you will be able to overcome. It happened with Rudy and it happened with dozens of people across the globe. What you desire is already yours.

Only you can dictate how your life will become. No one can have that role .

The Boy On The Wooden Box

The Boy On The Wooden Box

If there was character I would bring back from the book, it would be Oscar Schindler. I would ask him a barrage of questions. Why did he want to keep jews in Krakow? What use of Jews does he hope to gain from them?   The reason I want to ask these question is because I want to know why he started to care for the Jews. Also why he wanted the Jews to live ?? Just for his name to be cherished by Jews.

My feeling started to change throughout the book because when Leyson’s father was beat by the Germans i was angry. But after Schindler had let him work at the factory I was happy because Leyson's father could not be beaten or taken because Schindler was his brand so he wouldn't get hurt. But then after they started to create ghettos I had lost hope and Leysons family were all sad and scared of what might happen to them. It became depressing when there family had to split from each other, but then later they found themselves back together.

The Boy in The Box is different from Night because in the the Boy in The Box I feel like he had more opportunities because he spoke German and he looked like one so he got away with more things. Also his age too. In Night Elie did not have the same opportunities he only had him and his father. He lived through the worst camps and had to go through hell. Leyson didn't go through the same hell as Elie. Leyson had it easy because Schindler saved him too.
